Maharashtra school curriculum will include agriculture and agronomy: Aditiya Thackeray

New Delhi: Maharashtra’s Cabinet Minister Aaditya Thackeray announced on Wednesday that Maharastra’s school curriculum will include agriculture and agronomy. In a series of tweets, he said the study of agriculture will help facilitate the field of research.

Aditya Thackeray on her official Twitter account writes: “Maharashtra’s school curriculum will now include agriculture and agronomy. Many thanks to @VarshaEGaikwad ji & @dadajibhuse ji for this incredible decision, laying the groundwork for a transformation in the way the younger generation perceives agriculture. “

He further added that such studies in schools will create awareness and sensitivity to the problems of farmers in the country. “India is an agrarian nation, and formally integrating the study of agriculture into school will give a massive boost and help facilitate creative innovation and field research,” he adds.

He also mentioned that these studies will create a sensitive environment for the students facing the agrarian crisis and thus allow them to find possible solutions. “With early introduction at school level, this program will create sensitivity and awareness regarding farmers’ problems and inspire students to find sustainable solutions to challenges.”
