Curriculum revised to empower students with “how to think” not just “what to think” for grades 1-8
In line with a value system aimed at fostering a love of learning, Billabong High International School (BHIS) is about to launch a brand new curriculum for primary school called BHIS 2.0. The BHIS 2.0 program has been designed based on 4 fundamental pillars: Design Thinking, Social-Emotional Learning, 21st Century Skills and Inquiry-Based Learning.
- Language and Literature: In addition to international authors, Indian author stories will be featured prominently in English literature, including Ruskin Bond’s The Blue Umbrella, Sudha Murti’s The Lost Temple, and works like the biography of Dr. APJ Kalam, among others. others. Emphasis will again be placed on Hindi and Marathi (language and literature) in line with the new education policy.
- Technology: Learners will be encouraged to be more tech savvy. They will be able to revise the concepts and check their understanding of them on ARGUS.
- Maths Lab: Mathematics will shift from “spreadsheet-based learning” to “concept-based learning” through Maths Lab activities and experiences. The aim is to connect students to real life through an innovative learning approach.
- Global Perspectives: Several topics that have an impact on the world will be part of the global perspectives. This will broaden students’ worldview and make them empathize with the challenges, cultures, innovations and situations encountered around the world and broaden their perspective.
