When you take out a business loan, your company will receive a capital injection. This money offers you the opportunity to invest in your technological innovation, a new business premises or, for example, qualified personnel.
Types of business loans
You can take out a credit or business loan in various ways:
- At the government
- At the bank
- Through crowdfunding
- Via investors
The innovation credit
With the innovation credit, the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Climate contributes to the innovative power and sustainable growth of the Dutch economy. The innovation credit is a risk-bearing credit on which interest is calculated.
If you cannot provide the bank with enough security to be able to borrow money, the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Climate can partially guarantee your company. The Guarantee SME loans increases the collateral and therefore also the financeability of the company.
Early phase financing
Thanks to the Early Phase financing you will receive a loan for a renewal phase process. In this way, the government prevents valuable ideas for innovative products or services from ending up in the development phase and never reaching the market.
Borrow from the bank
You can also take out a business loan with the bank. The large banks in the Netherlands offer different types of loans, but there are of course many requirements attached to this. For example, a business plan is expected and an overview of the financial figures. We work together with various banks and can advise and assist you in this process.
Crowdfunding
With crowdfunding, a large group of people, the crowd, invests a relatively small amount in your crowdfunding project. Crowdfunding offers many benefits. The marketing around crowdfunding ensures a lot of brand awareness, the investors serve as ambassadors for your product or project and thanks to the crowdfunding campaign you can test whether the world is waiting for your product or service.
Investors
One or more investors can offer a solution when you have a financing requirement. The great thing is that besides financing, an investor also brings knowledge, experience and a network.
Conditions
The conditions attached to a business loan or credit are different per provider. This depends, for example, on the life phase of a company, the amount that you want to borrow and your equity. You will understand that the provider of your loan wants to run as little risk as possible.
Start-ups
That risk is an important reason why banks, in particular, are not eager to provide loans to start-up companies. That is why it is in many cases more difficult for start-ups to obtain financing than for companies that have been around for a long time. Yet it is not impossible. We are happy to look at the possibilities with you.
SMEs and scale-ups
This is different for small and medium-sized businesses and scale-ups. The risk is less high and therefore the threshold for bank financing is lower than for start-ups and start-ups.
